Please welcome James Smekal to the Dragon Class. James has sailed with the Cleveland Fleet for a couple of years and purchased USA253, Orca two years ago (not the best timing since pretty much everything in 2020 was cancelled). He will be racing her in Cleveland Race Week this coming weekend. USA253 is the second fibreglass Dragon built by Børresen and the first one in North America. She was bought by Maurice Van Horne who had her shipped to Rochester NY in 1972. She was originally called Applejack.
