If you own a Dragon and you race, Class Rules require you are a Member of your National Association (USD$75). Non-owners and Crew are encouraged to become an Associate Member at a reduced price (USD$20).
Association Membership gives you connections to other Dragon enthusiasts, locally and around the world. Your annual dues help to provide this website, a regular newsletter and a focus for Dragon activities in North America. The Association provides the larger Dragon community with specific information on buying and selling Dragons, advice on restoration, and links to suppliers, locally and internationally. And finally, it keeps the historical record of Dragons in North America, including current owners and fleets.
Each National Association is a member of the IDA and submits fees for each registered Dragon to the IDA who manage the class rules within the framework of the ISAF One Design policies. The IDA co-ordinates international Dragon championships, promotes Dragon sailing worldwide and communicates its activities via the National Associations.
The ADA is an Associate Member of US Sailing where the Dragon is listed as an ADA One Design Class. ADA Members can join US Sailing at a reduced rate.
The CDA is an Associate Member of Sail Canada.
