1957 Børresen – Toronto ON – CAD$18,500 – Restored in 2012, kept under cover, indoors since then. Petticrows mast, double axle trailer, multiple sets of sails.
A well-known Toronto Dragon, Viking was imported from Denmark in 1964 and had a successful racing career at the Royal Canadian Yacht Club for many years before retiring to cottage country.
She had extensive work done on her by Gyles Sails and Marine in Thornbury ON in 2012. Since that time, the boat has been stored indoors in Kleinburg Ontario in an unheated barn (wood floor) the entire time loosely covered for dust protection. There are no open seams or cracks of any type, and the varnish is in good shape as it does not see direct sunlight. Sanded back to wood in 2012, it was stained red mahogany then coated with 10 to 12 coats of Epifanes varnish. Some minor painting of the deck and cabin top are required. The railing cockpit combing was sanded and had two coats of varnish applied. It truly is a “grand piano” of boats.
Mast and boom are Petticrow, spare mast is Mahar. The boat comes ready to sail with all required hardware and multiple sails. Trailer is of unknown manufacture (double axle). Purchaser should ensure the trailer suits their needs (tires are approx. 8 years old, but the boat has taken no trips in that time). The boat currently rests on the trailer. The trailer needs to be licensed.
Asking price $18,500 CAD for boat and trailer and sails, extra mast.
I can send photos of the boat, inside the barn, but they really don’t do justice. Seeing is believing.
